First purchased in 1967, Opa and his family have owned and operated Opa's
Cabin for forty five years. Opa's Cabin now sees limited use as all the children have grown up and moved on to other interests. Opa's son, Robert, still travels the 120 mile journey with him several times a year to do the much needed maintenance on not only the cabin but the entire 12 acre Opa's Cabin family compound. Opa's son Peter, now lives in Sidney, BC., but still manages to travel to Opa's Cabin four times a year. Several of Peter's friends, Paul and his son John, Brian, and Douglas, (Doug not so much), still make the annual pilgramidge from their present homes. Peter has had these friends since early elementary school, and they still leave their already busy enough lives to work at Opa's Cabin. Definitely true friends spanning more than 50 years. |
